Mutual fund is a collective investment vehicle in which a group of investors can invest for expected future economic benefits from dividends and capital appreciation with advantages in risk distribution by using limited resources of investment while obtaining benefit from investment management system implemented by the professional fund managers.
Mutual fund may be legally set up and managed only by the asset management companies licensed by Minister of Finance and under the supervisory of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC). Mutual fund is classified in accordance with investment policy which may differ in term of asset class restriction and country of investment.
