Mohd Farid bin Kamarudin, Chief Executive Officer

Mohd Farid bin Kamarudin is the Chief Executive Officer of abrdn Islamic Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He has more than 25 years of investment industry experience where he first started as an Investment Analyst at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) in 1996 before assuming the role of Portfolio Manager in 2001. Throughout the years he has progressed to assume greater responsibilities at various asset management companies; covering both investment roles as well as business positions. Before joining abrdn, he was the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd.

Mohd Farid holds a LLB Law (Hons) Degree from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP), Legal Profession Qualifying Board, Malaysia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, PNB Investment Institute / Securities Institute of Australia. He also holds a Capital Markets Services Representative’s License for the regulated activity for fund management.

Aaina Salim, Senior Client Operations Officer

Aaina joined abrdn in 2010 as an intern from the Islamic Capital Market Graduate Training Scheme (ICMGTS), a jointly programme developed by the Securities Commission (SC) and Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC). At the end of the internship programme, Aaina joined permanently as an Operations Officer, managing operations and fund administration. Aaina graduated with a Bachelor of Islamic Finance & Banking from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and Diploma in Banking from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) .
