There were positive outcomes from COP28. It emphasised the importance of a 1.5 degrees limit on global warming and included the phase-out of fossil fuels in the final wording for the first time. Faith Ward explains to Eva Cairns why she came away from COP28 encouraged that - despite all the challenges - the main participants are still committed to tackling climate change.

There were inevitably some disappointments. But, overall, Faith believes the conference was a success - the call to transition away from fossil fuels this decade means that immediate action to reduce carbon emissions must be taken. Moreover, Faith believes that, as a result of COP28, there is a consensus among all interested parties on what must be done next to tackle climate change.
